My fascination with photography started when I was a teenager, with the help of a Pentax K1000, Ilford black & white film and a darkroom.
The technology might have changed since then, but the art of photography really hasn’t.
The more I see of this planet, the more I want to capture – the people, the urban landscapes, the natural beauty, and the visual ironies that surround us.
My journalism training helped develop my natural inclination toward reportage-style photography… and being an avid people-watcher helps as well.
Photography is a continual learning curve and that’s the constant challenge and thrill of it. Every new situation brings a new challenge, requiring on-the-spot creative problem solving skills and a knack for remaining calm under pressure.
Photography has led me to places I never thought possible… front row at live gigs for some of the world’s most popular musicians, including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; Passenger; and Australian favourites, Kimbra, Boy & Bear, and Eskimo Joe, just to name a few.
In 2011, I embarked on a nocturnal 365 project called The Night Owl, which involved taking one photo every night and posting them to my blog … this culminated in my first solo exhibition, Appetite Electric: urban landscapes exploring our electric life
Most of my images can be ordered at any size and delivered to anywhere in the world.
